Modernist chair designed by Erik Buch for the Danish manufacturer Anderstrup Møbelfabrik in the 1950s. This is Model 89. Made of high-quality teak in a dark brown tone. The shaped, comfortable seat and backrest are upholstered in high-quality black vinyl. The chair was crafted with the utmost attention to detail. It will work beautifully in a wide range of interiors.

Erik Buch was an industrial designer born in Copenhagen. His furniture is characterised by an organic and functional aesthetic. His first success was the Model 49 from 1949. It is characterised by a curved, floating seat and classic Scandinavian aesthetic. His best-known design is probably the Model 61 from 1961 bar stool, which features a typically Scandinavian base with organically sculpted lines. Many of Buch’s designs are named after the year in which they were created. Other designs by Buch include the Captain’s Chair (1955) for Ørum Møbler, the Model 310 dining chair for Chr. Christiansen, and a T-shaped bar stool for Dyrlund.

The chair is preserved in its original vintage condition. It has minor signs of use consistent with its age. The seat height is 44 cm.
