Coloured glass platter, designed by Josef Hospodka, Chribska Sklarna, 1960s

Description

Coloured glass platter, designed by Josef Hospodka, Chribska Sklarna, 1960s

A multicoloured platter made of art glass in the 1960s at the Czechoslovak glassworks Chřibská.

The vessel is characterised by an organic, fluid form typical of Czechoslovak art glass of the era. The design is based on a striking, layered interplay of colours. The lower, massive part of the base was formed from transparent glass with a subtle salmon-pink hue, which transitions smoothly upwards into a deep, saturated cobalt blue dominating the broad dish.

The item is preserved in perfect technical and visual condition, without any damage.

The platter is an outstanding example of Czechoslovak Mid-Century Modern design and will be an excellent, eye-catching accent in any modern or eclectic interior.
