Leather swivel armchair, designed by Georg Thams, Denmark, 1960s

A rare office armchair designed by Danish designer Georg Thams in the 1960s. It is fully upholstered in black natural leather. It has three loose cushions. The armchair is spacious and comfortable, while the wide armrests further enhance comfort. The base consists of a swivel five-star metal base. Sharp edges perfectly complement the furniture’s distinctive form, while its elegant lines will accentuate the minimalist character of an interior.

Georg Thams is a leading Danish furniture designer. He specialised in angular designs, primarily sofas and armchairs. All his designs are characterised by strongly defined edges and pronounced forms. They were produced by many Danish manufacturers, including Vejen Møbelfabrik, and continue to attract interest at many auctions to this day.

The armchair remains in original vintage condition. It has minor signs of use, areas of wear, and natural patina. The seat height is 44 cm.
