Description

Pair of marble table lamps, Kámen Praha, 1930s.

A set of two lamps representing an excellent example of Czechoslovak artistic craftsmanship from the Art Deco period. The lamps are entirely made of natural marble in a refined, light cream colour with rich golden-beige veining.

Each lamp is based on a stable, flat, oval base. Set upon it is a geometric, vertical cuboid body with subtly chamfered vertical edges, concealing a lamp socket inside. A minimalist white push-button switch is integrated into the front of the marble base.

During the interwar period, the Czechoslovak company Kámen Praha was renowned for its highest-quality decorative stonework and luxurious interior furnishings.

The items are preserved in very good vintage condition, with natural, minimal signs of age on the surface of the stone.

The lamps bear the manufacturer’s markings.
The lamps are fully functional and ready for use.
