Set of 5 metal prototype chairs, Sweden, 1960s

A set of five minimalist chairs from the 1960s. These are probably prototypes made for a Swedish manufacturer, and the chairs never went into mass production. They feature a sturdy construction made of black-painted metal wire. In form, they reference Cees Braakman’s iconic design for the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe from the late 1950s, namely the SMo5 Wire chair. Their raw, minimalist aesthetic makes them equally at home in industrial and modern interiors.

The chairs are in original vintage condition. They have minor chips and surface oxidation on the metal. The seat height is 41 cm.
