A classic Scandinavian armchair designed by Alf Svensson for the Swedish brand DUX, dating from the 1960s. It is a distinctive example of Swedish modernism, in which functionality is combined with a soft, organic form. Surviving examples of this model are described as DUX pieces from the 1960s, made from solid teak.

The most distinctive element of the armchair is its teak frame. The warm tone and natural grain of the wood complement the simple construction of the piece. Svensson does not use heavy, bulky elements here—the armrests flow seamlessly into the front legs, while the slender, gently tapered legs lend the whole design a sense of lightness. The rounded edges and gently flowing lines of the frame are typical of Scandinavian design from the mid-20th century.

The piece underwent meticulous professional restoration, including the removal of old finishes, staining, and lacquer finishing. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced cabinetmaker with over 20 years of experience. The seat and backrest were newly upholstered in beige fabric. The upholstery foam was also replaced. Thanks to these treatments, the armchair looks splendid and will serve its new owner for many years without concern about damage or deterioration through everyday use.
