The TV-Kanna Signatur thermos flask was designed by Carl-Arne Breger for the Swedish manufacturer Husqvarna Borstfabrik in 1962. The thermos is made of orange-red plastic with a black base. The handle and lid are made of solid teak. The opening is designed so that a coffee or tea filter can be placed directly on it.

Carl-Arne Breger was born on 29 August 1923 in Trelleborg. He died on 15 January 2009 in Malmö. He was a Swedish industrial designer known primarily for designing plastic products. He studied at Konstfack in Stockholm from 1943 to 1948. In 1953, he was hired as a product designer for Stig Lindberg at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory. Breger soon moved on to designing sanitary ware and plastic products. Among other things, he designed the best-selling Gustavsberg sink, model 525, as well as many everyday plastic objects, such as a square bucket from which water could be poured easily. In 1960, he won an award for the best plastic product of the 1950s, and Breger himself was dubbed Mr. Plastic. In 1959, he opened his own company, Breger Design, in Malmö. There, he designed many objects that are now design classics and that were, and still are, found in many Swedish homes. His best-known plastic product is a sculpted styrene water jug, which is now a sought-after collector’s item. The Juice Press duo, designed for Gustavsberg in 1967, is another Breger classic acquired by the Museum of Modern Art. Breger called himself a master of versatility and created functional objects. He was very pleased with the Diavox telephone he designed for LM Ericsson in 1975. It became Televerket’s first standard push-button telephone and was exported to many countries. Over the years, nearly 3,000 products left the drawing boards at Breger Design.

The thermos is in original vintage condition. It is fully functional and keeps liquids warm for many hours. It has normal signs of use.
