Figurine depicting a Southeast Asian temple dancer / a figurine inspired by Buddhist and Khmer art, made of patinated metal – most likely bronze or brass.
The sculpture is executed in the style of Asian sacred art.
Its slender silhouette, richly detailed costume and lotus-shaped base give it an exceptionally decorative character.
The surface is covered with a dark patina, with natural signs of wear and greenish oxidation typical of copper alloys.
The figurine probably dates from the 1960s or 1980s and was made as a decorative export casting inspired by the art of Thailand, Cambodia or Burma.
