Mid-century modern table lamp, 1950s/60s

Description

Original mid-century modern table lamp, made in Europe between 1955 and 1965.
The design draws on Scandinavian and Continental modernism – a clean form, functionality and high-quality craftsmanship.
The lamp features a curved brass arm set on a sculptural, organic black base. The metal shade is olive-champagne in colour, with ventilation holes at the top to allow heat to escape. The proportions and details are characteristic of 1950s and early 1960s design.
Unattributed design – typical of the high-quality functional production of the period.

Condition: very good vintage condition. Natural minor signs of wear consistent with its age (minor scratches and patina).
The electrical system is in working order; the lamp is ready for use.
