Table, variant B12, designed by M. Breuer, Czechoslovakia, 1930s
Description
Table, variant B12, designed by M. Breuer, Czechoslovakia, 1930s
A catalogue variant of model B12, designed for the Czech Thonet in the 1930s by Marcel Breuer, a leading representative of the Bauhaus school. It features two tabletops set within a minimalist, unified frame made of chromed steel. The table’s edges are rounded, which visually slenderises the piece. By combining simple form, elegance, and functionality, this design is considered an icon of the Bauhaus style. Our catalogue variant has the lower tabletop flush with the frame, making it even more geometric.
Preserved in original vintage condition. The tabletops have scratches, while the chrome shows signs of age, scuffing, and tarnishing, particularly on the lower sections.
