Two-seater Marsala sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, France, 1970s
Description
Two-seater Marsala sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, France, 1970s
An iconic two-seater Marsala sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, created at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s during a period of intense experimentation in French design.
Its distinctive, sculptural form is based on a thermoformed Plexiglas shell, paired here with newly upholstered cushions in a soft, stain-resistant bouclé fabric in a beige shade.
The cushion filling has been completely replaced, giving this vintage piece a fresh, contemporary character while preserving its original silhouette.
The Plexiglas shell has been preserved in very good condition, with only minor signs of use and a natural patina commensurate with its age, neither of which affects the stability of the structure.
The Marsala model is no longer in production, remaining a striking example of Ducaroy’s innovative approach to materials and the concept of relaxed lounging.
Also available as part of the set: a three-seater sofa, pouf, and two armchairs.
