Vintage desk lamp, VEB Leuchtenbau Lengefeld, Germany, 1960s

Description

Original desk lamp from East Germany (GDR), manufactured in the 1960s. This model is attributed to VEB Leuchtenbau Lengefeld, one of the leading manufacturers of functional lighting in the GDR.
A classic, functionalist form – a black enamelled steel shade, an adjustable joint with brass elements, and a solid, heavy base ensuring stability.

The lamp retains its original inventory sticker:
“Groß-Berlin – Rat des Stadtbezirks Prenzlauer Berg”, indicating that it was used by the public administration of East Berlin.
The shade contains the original Bakelite switch.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. Visible natural signs of use and patina on the metal elements. Stable construction and a fully functional adjustment mechanism.
A classic example of GDR industrial design – ideal for mid-century, industrial, and modernist collector interiors.
