Cherry wood coffee table, Denmark, 1950s
Description
Cherry wood coffee table, Denmark, 1950s
A low coffee table made in Denmark in the 1950s. It is made from bird cherry wood, also known as cherry wood. It is highly attractive, hard yet flexible, and resistant to mechanical stress. It is used mainly in the production of high-quality furniture and musical instrument components. The tabletop features two shades of brown, with the darker section positioned at the centre. The turned legs are made of solid wood. This is a simple form inspired by the design principles of the Mid-Century Modern era.
The table has been preserved in its original vintage condition. It shows signs of age and has developed a natural patina.
