An elegant Ph23/2 bar trolley designed by Danish designer Poul Hundevad in the 1960s. Made of high-quality rosewood, prized for its durability and decorative grain pattern. The warm, dark brown tones of the wood are enhanced by a natural finish that showcases the richness of its texture. The construction consists of three levels. The upper shelf can be adjusted to accommodate, for example, taller bottles. It is also possible to join the two shelves at the top to create a larger tabletop. The two lower shelves are ideal for storing barware. Brass casters make the trolley easy to move. The slender, turned legs and lightweight form embody the philosophy of Danish modernism: Form follows function. The piece combines functionality with the timeless aesthetics of the Mid-Century Modern style, characteristic of the Scandinavian school of design.

Poul Hundevad was a Danish designer who liked combining past traditions with modernity. Like other mid-century designers, he drew inspiration from the past, referencing not only the long tradition of outstanding cabinetmaking but also designs from other eras. In Hundevad’s case, an object from the distant past contributed to his greatest success. In 1960, he began producing his most famous work, the Guldhøj chair. The design was a copy of a folding chair discovered in a burial mound in Vamdrup, dating from the Scandinavian Bronze Age. It was the oldest surviving piece of furniture in Scandinavia. Hundevad measured the original chair, refined the design, and put it into production, using four different types of wooden and leather seats in light and dark shades. The chair was an immediate success and was sold worldwide. The Hundevad name became synonymous with Danish design. He looked to the past, remaining faithful to traditional craftsmanship and techniques while creating modern works.

The trolley has been preserved in its original vintage condition. One caster is slightly damaged, but this does not affect its mobility. There is a minor trace of glue on one leg.
