Description

Original German Cocoon Flower pendant lamp, manufactured by Goldkant Leuchten in the 1960s. This model is attributed to Friedel Wauer, one of the pioneers of Cocoon technology, which revolutionised lighting design in the mid-20th century.
The shade was made using the distinctive Cocoon technique – a metal frame was coated with a layer of resin, creating a lightweight, organic structure reminiscent of a silkworm cocoon. When switched on, the material beautifully diffuses the light, creating a warm and exceptionally atmospheric effect.
The model stands out for its expressive form, reminiscent of a blooming flower, making it not only a source of light but also a unique decorative element in any interior.
The lamp retains its original German fitting with markings in German, confirming its origin in the German market.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition, appropriate for its age. The construction is stable, and the Cocoon material is well preserved, with natural patina resulting from the passage of time. The electrical wiring is in working order.

Material: Metal, Cocoon material (resin on a metal frame)
