Description

Coffee or occasional table from the early 1930s, originating from England and designed in the Art Deco style. The entire piece is finished in walnut veneer with a beautiful, distinctive grain pattern, while the tabletop features striking burr walnut veneer with a symmetrical pattern. The entire piece has a satin finish.
The geometric, modernist form with rounded corners is enhanced by contrasting black-and-white edging on the tabletop, shelves and legs. Their graphic rhythm emphasises the architectural character of the piece and gives it a distinctive decorative quality.
The asymmetrically arranged shelves create an interesting, two-tiered composition while also providing practical storage space. The solid construction ensures the table’s stability.
The combination of fine walnut, striking burr veneer, a geometric form and contrasting details creates a distinctive piece that would sit equally well in Art Deco and vintage interiors, as well as in more contemporary, eclectic settings.
