Ulrika Hydman Vallien lived from 1938 to 2018. She was a Swedish artist who specialised in stained glass and decorative painting. She is best known for her glass designs. For many years, she collaborated with and developed a strong design profile for the Swedish glassworks Kosta Boda. A recurring motif in her work was the tulip and the snake, as an attempt to depict paradise. Hydman Vallien was one of just 50 artists selected to collaborate with British Airways on designs for aircraft tails, napkins, porcelain, tickets, and stationery for the fleet. Her work was exhibited in many museums around the world. In tribute to the artist, a street in the Swedish town of Åfors was named after her.
The work is in original vintage condition. The frame shows light signs of use.
