Loft Kolasiński works with the history of a place, vintage objects and timeless materials. For MIDMOD, the studio chose pieces close to its aesthetic.
Loft Kolasiński is a design studio specialising in comprehensive interior projects for private and public spaces, as well as industrial design. The practice has been operating for over fifteen years, carrying out projects throughout Poland and in many European countries. Founded by Jacek Kolasiński, the studio is known for its ability to work with unusual locations — from historic tenement buildings and industrial spaces, through lofts and attics, to a Renaissance palace near Berlin and an old blacksmith’s workshop dating from 1915.

The Loft Kolasiński team not only designs interiors but also creates original furniture and accessories — handmade in trusted joinery workshops where traditional craft methods are nurtured. The studio also specialises in sourcing and restoring vintage objects: furniture, lighting, ceramics, prints, and rugs. In every project, preserving the original character and collectible value of each piece is a priority.

Undoubtedly, one of the most important events in the studio’s history is its recent collaboration with Danish brand Massimo Copenhagen — an icon of rug design whose collaborators have included practices such as Norm Architects, Space Copenhagen, and OEO Studio. The “Symmetry” collection, designed by Jacek Kolasiński, is the first collaboration in the brand’s history with a designer from outside Scandinavia.

“Symmetry” is a collection of hand-tufted rugs made from the highest-quality New Zealand wool. The design explores the relationship between natural chaos and order created by human hands. Distinctive intersecting lines with varying pile heights emphasise the depth and architectural rhythm of the composition. The colourways — Oat and Sun — draw on natural tones with a subtle interplay of light and texture. The collection was launched in 2025, with photography by Joel Hauck.

Loft Kolasiński continues to develop collaborations with specialists in rare fields and to pursue its practice of combining interior design, product design, and work with vintage objects, creating projects characterised by authenticity, timelessness, and deep respect for materials.

For years, Loft Kolasiński has worked with vintage objects that carry history, form, and an energy capable of transforming an interior. In this selection, it presents those that, in Jacek’s view, have particular potential — timeless, authentic, and ready to continue their story.
