Safari Chairs, Casala, Germany, 1960s, Set of 4
The Casala Safari Chair is one of the more interesting designs by the renowned German company.
The iconic German furniture manufacturer Casala produced this chair in the 1960s. The chair was part of a set consisting of an armchair and a dining chair.
Its unusual construction is made entirely of solid beech wood painted ebony. The soft upholstered seat and backrest are made of durable natural linen fabric in mint green. The backrest is designed as a piece of fabric stretched with black cord between the chair legs, which extend upwards. This is a unique minimalist form. A very rarely seen chair. A true collector’s gem.
The manufacturer of this chair is Casala, a historic brand founded in Germany in 1917, known for its interesting and timeless furniture.
The chairs have undergone upholstery restoration. The old upholstery has been replaced with high-quality natural upholstery linen in mint green. The woodwork has been left in its natural vintage condition, with some local scratches and scuffing, which in the case of these chairs only adds to their charm and character. The overall presentation is truly impressive. This exceptional set is a real find for a connoisseur. A very rare model, especially as a complete set.
Price for the set of 4.
