Description
Teak highboard, Denmark, 1950s
Vintage highboard made in Denmark in the 1950s. It represents the classic school of Danish design, based on simplicity and functionality. It is finished in teak with a subtle grain and a warm, honey-toned colour. In the lower section, the sideboard has a bank of drawers, whose bottoms are lined with material in a billiard-table green shade. The sideboard comes with original cutlery holders patented by NIHK. The upper section features sliding doors, behind which are shelves and a drinks cabinet with a decorative mirror. This piece is an example of mid-20th-century Scandinavian design. It has a retro form with rounded edges.
Preserved in its original vintage condition. It shows signs of age, including scuffs, scratches and minor discolouration.
The colours of products shown in the photographs may differ slightly from the actual colours. This is due to individual monitor settings and the type of lighting – the photographs were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of the shades. We nevertheless make every effort to ensure that the photographs reflect the product’s actual appearance as faithfully as possible. The listing may include photographs of the item in an interior setting. These are for illustrative purposes only.
