Bengt Karl Erik Lindström lived from 1925 to 2008. Lindström is one of the best-known contemporary Swedish artists. His work is characterised by a distinctive style using many colours. The influence of comics is apparent in its directness and unequivocal message. In 1944, Lindström moved to Stockholm to study under the Swedish painter Isaac Grünewald. In 1948, he went to Paris, where he studied under the French painters André Lhote and Fernand Léger. He remained in France, in Savigny-sur-Orge, until the end of his artistic career. Lindström is probably best known for his outdoor works, such as murals and colourful sculptures. One of his most famous sculptures is the massive Y sculpture at Midlanda Airport, north of Sundsvall, Sweden.
The piece is in original vintage condition.
