Description

Teak lounge chairs designed by Illum Wikkelsø for Niels Eilersen, 1960s

A pair of lounge chairs designed in the 1960s by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by the Danish company Niels Eilersen. The chair frames are made of solid teak and have undergone meticulous, professional restoration involving the removal of the old finishes, staining, and lacquer finishing. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced cabinetmaker with over 20 years of experience. Particularly noteworthy are the armrests, characteristic of this model, whose shape resembles waves.

The chair cushions are upholstered in genuine, original black leather, preserved in very good condition with minimal signs of use in the form of scratches and scuffs. One of the cushions has a visible indentation, shown in one of the photographs. The seat of each chair features the original canvas, preserved in very good condition. The chairs bear the manufacturer’s mark beneath the seat, as well as the Danish quality mark awarded by the association of Danish furniture manufacturers in the 1960s and later.
