High-back modernist armchair, Farstrup Møbler, Denmark, 1970s

This high-back armchair was manufactured by the Danish furniture maker Farstrup Møbler in the 1970s. The frame is made of solid beechwood in a dark bitter-chocolate shade. The seat and back cushions are upholstered in high-quality dark brown genuine leather. They are secured through openings in the backrest. The armchair is lightweight and very comfortable. The streamlined shape of the armrests enhances comfort during use. The modernist form of the piece allows it to serve as the focal point of a wide range of interiors.

The history of the brand dates back to 1910. Farstrup was originally established as a sawmill near the beautiful Langesø forests. The company’s mission is to create and build high-quality furniture, often made to order, that improves quality of life. Each piece is unique and reflects a heritage dating back to 1910, passed down through successive generations. A common feature of all Farstrup furniture is fine wood, usually more than 100 years old, along with the use of only the finest-quality leather and fabrics. The armchair has been preserved in its original vintage condition. The leather shows signs of age in the form of pigmentation changes and minor scuffs. The seat is 42 cm high. We also offer another matching armchair that is just slightly lower.
